TOEIC Practice Test
Updated for October 2026TOEIC Score
A TOEIC score is based on the number of questions you answer correctly. There is no penalty for incorrect answers, so itโs important to answer all of the questions. The score report gives you a total scaled score for the listening and reading sections and also provides you with a percentile rank based on data from test takers in three previous years. It also includes the scores for the score descriptors and abilities measured sections.
The TOEIC scoring system relates to CEFR levels. This makes it a popular option for companies that need to evaluate English-speaking skills. However, itโs not recommended to use the TOEIC score alone for hiring purposes. Itโs important to have other qualifications for the job.
If youโre looking to improve your TOEIC score, start with an objective and make a plan for how you will get there. A yearly study plan will help you focus on the most important things to learn and practice, such as vocabulary, listening and reading. You can also try to incorporate a variety of activities into your study plan, like reading newspapers and articles from The Economist.
Candidates can also sharpen their skills with our Duolingo English test 2026, which includes hundreds of practice questions in the exact format and difficulty of the real exam.

- D. nevertheless
Answer: C. for example

๐ How many questions are on the TOEIC Listening and Reading test?
The TOEIC Listening and Reading test has 200 multiple-choice questions in total: 100 in the Listening section and 100 in the Reading section. Both sections are split into seven parts and use workplace and everyday English contexts.
START TOEIC READING PRACTICE TESTโฑ๏ธ How long does the TOEIC test take?
The TOEIC Listening and Reading test takes about two hours of testing time: roughly 45 minutes for the Listening section and 75 minutes for the Reading section. You should also allow extra time at the test center for check-in and completing the answer sheet.
START TOEIC LISTENING PRACTICE TEST๐ฏ What is the TOEIC score range?
Each TOEIC Listening and Reading section is scored from 5 to 495, and the two are added for a total scaled score from 10 to 990. The score is scaled, not a raw count of correct answers, so difficulty differences between test forms are evened out.
START TOEIC SCORE PRACTICE TESTโ Is there a passing score on the TOEIC test?
The TOEIC test has no official pass or fail mark. It reports a score from 10 to 990, and each company or school sets its own target. Many employers look for scores between 600 and 850 depending on how much English the role requires.
START TOEIC PRACTICE TEST๐ซ Is there a penalty for wrong answers on the TOEIC?
No. TOEIC does not subtract points for incorrect answers, so you should answer every question even if you are unsure. Because your score reflects only correct answers, guessing on items you cannot finish in time can only help, never hurt, your result.
START TOEIC ERROR PRACTICE TEST๐๏ธ What are the seven parts of the TOEIC test?
Listening covers Part 1 Photographs, Part 2 Question-Response, Part 3 Conversations and Part 4 Talks. Reading covers Part 5 Incomplete Sentences, Part 6 Text Completion and Part 7 Reading Comprehension passages. Each part targets a different workplace English skill.
START TOEIC PART 5 PRACTICE TEST๐ผ๏ธ What is TOEIC Part 1 Photographs?
In Part 1 you see a photo and hear four short statements, then choose the one that best describes the picture. It tests your ability to recognise people, actions and objects in everyday work scenes and is the shortest listening part of the TOEIC test.
START TOEIC PHOTOGRAPHS PRACTICE TEST๐ What is tested in TOEIC Part 7 Reading Comprehension?
Part 7 presents single and multiple passages such as emails, notices, articles and forms, followed by questions about details, purpose and inference. It is the longest Reading part and rewards skimming for key information and understanding business documents quickly and accurately.
START TOEIC PART 7 PRACTICE TEST๐๏ธ How long are TOEIC scores valid?
TOEIC score reports are generally considered valid for two years from the test date, because language ability can change over time. Many employers and institutions will only accept a TOEIC result issued within the last two years, so plan your test timing accordingly.
START TOEIC PRACTICE TEST๐ผ What kind of English does the TOEIC test measure?
The TOEIC test measures everyday workplace English rather than academic language. Questions use realistic business situations such as meetings, travel, emails, finance and office conversations, so it is widely used by companies to check how well employees can communicate in an international work environment.
