ASWB Clinical Test Questions and Answers

The Michigan Board does not have a cap on the times you can retake the ASWB exam, but you have to wait 90 days between attempts. You will have to reapply and pay the entire examination fee.

There are 170 multiple-choice questions.

  • The test is a long one. There are 170 questions on the extremely long test. Your mind must therefore be prepared to think. The test has a 4-hour time limit. For each question, allot no more than 70 seconds. You’ll have an additional 40 minutes buffer to take breaks and review your marked questions.
  • Make time management a habit. When taking practice exams, timing yourself is really crucial. Put your phone timer on for 70 seconds and see how much of this list you can read before it beeps. That is actually something you can do right now. Since you don’t want to waste time throughout the exam checking the time, it is crucial to have an internal feeling of what 70 seconds seem like. Other employers might advise you to take their exams without a timer in study mode. A practice test that wasteful is useless. You must practice rapid thinking.
  • It is advised to take two breaks during the exam—one at question 70 and the other at question 140. Because the ASWB exam is a mental marathon, as was already indicated, it’s crucial to get up, move about, and consume a snack. We frequently receive calls from people who have failed, and the majority of them claim that they never took a break. Poor idea. You will have enough time to take two 10 minute breaks and still have 20 minutes to check your marked questions if your average time is 70 seconds or less.
  • Your brain accounts for 2% of your body weight yet uses 20% of your total energy. And that only accounts for a typical day; when it is working hard, it consumes much more. According to studies, when your brain is operating at its peak, as it will when you are taking the ASWB exam, it uses more glucose than any other major muscle area does. Make sure to refuel both before entering the testing facility and while taking breaks.
  • Learn about your testing facility. Being lost on the way to the test is the last thing you should be concerned about. To get oriented, we advise traveling there a week beforehand. Additionally, it’s crucial to find out the testing facility’s snack policy by calling a few weeks beforehand. Pearsons is in charge of giving the ASWB test. You might be informed that you cannot bring in refreshments. However, be careful to specify that you need them available in the waiting area and won’t be taking snacks inside the testing room. Remind them that this is a 44-hour exam and that you become hypoglycemia if you don’t receive a snack if they bother you in any way. In case of emergency, obtain a note from your doctor. They are unable to reject that.
  • Control your fear. The easiest approach to do this is to establish distinct tactics that you will employ when answering the exam’s various questions. Exercise in the days before the test is a crucial preparation strategy. In reality, stress and anxiety are just molecules that are being released into our bodies. Our kidneys filter them out, which is the easiest way to get rid of them. One reason individuals “feel better” after a quick walk or an exercise is because of this. Increasing your heart rate will hasten the removal of those stress-related substances. Before you begin studying, and if you have time, the morning before the ASWB exam, go for a 15 to 20 minute walk.

Depending on how hard you study for the test. With sufficient preparation, test takers will likely find the exam manageable.

On average, out of the 150 scored questions, pass points vary from 90 to 107 accurate answers.

The ASWB test is specifically created to determine whether test-takers possess the knowledge, talents, and skills necessary to function ethically as clinical social workers. The ASWB Clinical Exam is taken by thousands of people each year.

Social Work ASWB Clinical Practice Test

The ASWB clinical practice test is a test designed to measure the knowledge and skills of social workers. This is a critical component of a Social Work license.

Approximately tens of thousands of people take the ASWB clinical exam each year. The exam is a four-hour, multiple-choice examination. It is administered at Pearson Vue test centers, with testing appointments Monday through Friday. There are 150 questions that must be answered correctly to pass. During the exam, examinees are allowed four breaks. These breaks are limited to stretching and bathroom breaks.

After completing the test, candidates are given an unofficial score report. If they don't pass, they must wait 90 days before taking the exam again. They must also pay the fee for retaking it. In some jurisdictions, a waiver may be available to retake the exam.

If you're preparing for the exam, you should find a study guide and practice tests to give you an idea of what to expect. There are a number of study materials on the market, and most students prefer prep books that cover important topics.
