Multiply each exponent by 2: x^4 y^6.
What is the value of 5^3 / 5^5?
Answer: 1/25
5^(3−5) = 5^(−2) = 1/25.
Simplify √(98) + √(2).
Answer: 8√2
√98 = 7√2, so 7√2 + √2 = 8√2.
If x^2 = 64, what are the possible values of x?
Answer: 8 or -8
Both 8 and −8 squared equal 64.
What is (2^3 · 3^2) expressed as a single number?
Answer: 72
8 × 9 = 72.
Simplify (√6)^2.
Answer: 6
Squaring a square root removes the radical: (√6)^2 = 6.
What is the value of 81^(1/4)?
Answer: 3
81 = 3^4, so the fourth root is 3.
