What is the value of (x^3 · x^4) / x^2?
Answer: x^5
Add exponents in the numerator (3+4=7), then subtract 2: x^5.
Simplify (2x^2)^3.
Answer: 8x^6
Raise both the coefficient and variable: 2^3 = 8 and (x^2)^3 = x^6.
What is the value of 9^(1/2)?
Answer: 3
An exponent of 1/2 means the square root, and √9 = 3.
Evaluate 8^(2/3).
Answer: 4
8^(1/3) = 2, then squared gives 4.
What is √(3) · √(12)?
Answer: 6
√3 · √12 = √36 = 6.
Which is equal to 16^(3/4)?
Answer: 8
16^(1/4) = 2, then 2^3 = 8.
Simplify (a^5)(a^(-3)).
Answer: a^2
Add the exponents: 5 + (−3) = 2.
