    Answer: 2^8

    When multiplying powers with the same base, add the exponents: 5 + 3 = 8.

  2. Simplify (3^4) / (3^2).

    Answer: 3^2

    When dividing powers with the same base, subtract the exponents: 4 − 2 = 2.

  3. What is (5^2)^3?

    Answer: 5^6

    A power raised to a power multiplies the exponents: 2 × 3 = 6.

  4. Evaluate 7^0.

    Answer: 1

    Any nonzero base raised to the zero power equals 1.

  5. What is the value of 4^(-2)?

    Answer: 1/16

    A negative exponent gives the reciprocal: 4^(-2) = 1/4^2 = 1/16.

  6. Simplify √(49).

    Answer: 7

    The principal square root of 49 is 7 because 7 × 7 = 49.

  7. What is √(50) in simplest radical form?

    Answer: 5√2

    √50 = √(25·2) = 5√2.
