Updated for October 2026What changed for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in 2026
- ASHA's new 2027 Certification Standards for both the CCC-SLP (Speech-Language Pathology) and CCC-A (Audiology) take effect for any application ASHA receives on or after August 1, 2027; applications submitted through July 31, 2027 are still evaluated under the current 2020 standards. (source)
- The current ASHA-recognized passing score on the Praxis exam is 162 for both Speech-Language Pathology (test code 5331) and Audiology (test code 5343) as of 2026 — a passing score of 170 applies only to the older 5342/0342 test version that some state licensing boards still accept, not the current CCC-A requirement. - The Clinical Fellowship (CF) required for full CCC certification must total at least 36 weeks and 1,260 hours, worked a minimum of 5 hours per week and divided into 3 mentored segments. (source)
- In fall 2025, ASHA updated the language of its Certification Standards to more clearly define the 3 hours of professional development in specific content areas that certificate holders must complete within the standing 30-PDH-per-3-years maintenance requirement. (source)
- ASHA's Council for Clinical Certification (CFCC) has published side-by-side "2020 to 2027 Standards Crosswalk" documents for both Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology so current students and applicants can see exactly what is changing before the 2027 cutover. (source)

Candidates can only apply for the CCC test on the internet. Candidates can apply for the CCC examination via NIELIT's online examination form and fee submission service.
Since this is a computer appreciation course, there is no minimum or maximum age requirement for taking the CCC Exam.

How to Pass CCC Exam?
To be able to pass the CCC exam. On a regular basis, the incumbents should work on practice questions. For the same reason. They can practice for the CCC examination by downloading mock question papers from several websites. There are also prior year's question papers accessible for candidates to get more practice.
The CCC exam is made up of 100 multiple-choice questions worth a total of 100 points. The applicants are given one hour to give answers. The exam requires a minimum score of 50% to pass. This means that only candidates who receive a minimum of 50% on the CCC exam are eligible for the certificate. It is important to note that there is no negative marking system.
What if I failed?
CCC Exam Result
The results are usually released 15 to 20 days after the exam date by NIELIT. The CCC Result for February exams will be released in March 2026. Candidates could access their CCC Result by January 2026 for the January exams, which were held from January 9 to 13, 2026.
Grades are used to reflect the results of the CCC examination. To receive a valid CCC exam certificate, candidates must achieve a minimum score out of a maximum score. The following tables can help candidates comprehend the Grade Allotment:
