    Cement-to-sand is 2:5, so 35 × (2/5) = 14 pounds of cement.

    2% of $1,500 is $30, so $1,500 − $30 = $1,470.

    86 − 68 = 18 degrees.

  6. A worker fills 45 boxes in 3 hours. At this rate, how many in a full 8-hour day?

  7. A circle-shaped lid has a radius of 7 inches. What is its approximate area? (use π ≈ 22/7)
