Answer: 400 km
Speed is 80 km/h, so in 5 hours it covers 80 x 5 = 400 km.
A shirt costs £40 after a 20% discount. What was its original price?
Answer: £50
£40 is 80% of the original, so the original is 40 / 0.8 = £50.
If 5 workers build a wall in 12 days, how long would 6 workers take at the same rate?
Answer: 10 days
Total work is 60 worker-days, so 6 workers take 60 / 6 = 10 days.
What is 15% of 260?
Answer: 39
15% of 260 = 0.15 x 260 = 39.
A recipe for 4 people needs 600 g of flour. How much flour is needed for 10 people?
Answer: 1500 g
Per person needs 150 g, so 10 people need 150 x 10 = 1500 g.
A car's value drops from £18,000 to £13,500. What is the percentage decrease?
