Answer: 13 ft
By the Pythagorean theorem, √(12² + 5²) = √169 = 13 ft.
What is the area of a triangle with a base of 10 cm and a height of 6 cm?
Answer: 30 cm²
Area = ½ × base × height = ½ × 10 × 6 = 30 cm².
A circle has a radius of 7 in. Using π ≈ 22/7, what is its circumference?
Answer: 44 in
Circumference = 2πr = 2 × (22/7) × 7 = 44 in.
Two angles are complementary. If one angle measures 35°, what is the measure of the other?
Answer: 55°
Complementary angles sum to 90°, so 90° − 35° = 55°.
What is the volume of a rectangular box that is 4 ft by 3 ft by 2 ft?
Answer: 24 ft³
Volume = length × width × height = 4 × 3 × 2 = 24 ft³.
