- The NCAE is now computer-based (CB-NCAE): DepEd Memorandum No. 108, s. 2025 (December 11, 2025) directs the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA), with schools division offices, to administer the Computer-Based National Career Assessment Examination for School Year 2025–2026, pursuant to DepEd Order No. 55, s. 2016. - Who takes it — Grade 10, not Grade 9: the SY 2025–2026 CB-NCAE is given to all Grade 10 learners currently enrolled in public schools and in private schools with government permit or recognition. (source)
- Testing window: DM 108 set the window at December 2025 to January 2026 during regular classes (BEA announced December 9, 2025 to January 30, 2026); exact test dates are fixed by each schools division office with the regional office. (source)
- Window extended to February 28, 2026: on requests from regional and division offices, BEA extended the CB-NCAE testing window up to February 28, 2026 (DepEd Caraga Regional Memorandum No. 0044, s. 2026, January 21, 2026). (source)
- Mandatory mock test: all Grade 10 learners take a mock test beginning December 1, 2025, at least a week before the actual administration, to get used to the computer-based testing environment. (source)
- What the test covers: two domains — General Scholastic Aptitude (GSA: Abstract Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Mechanical Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Spatial Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning in English and Filipino, and Perceptual Accuracy and Response Efficiency/PARE) and the Career and Occupational Roles Explorer (CORE-A RIASEC and CORE-B Thurstone inventories of occupational interests).
