Got my results yesterday and didn't pass. I'm frustrated but trying to stay focused on what to fix rather than dwelling on it. Writing this partly to process it and partly because I know others will be in the same spot.
My weakest area was practice test — I knew going in that it was shaky but underestimated how much the exam weighted it. The questions weren't unfair, I just didn't have the depth I needed.
I'm rebuilding my study plan around the free stamp clear learning targets questions and answers and going much slower this time — no more rushing through topics I think I know. Also going through stamp test scores 7 tips to know to fill in the conceptual foundation I was missing. Planning to take 6 more weeks before rescheduling.
Anyone else been through a STAMP retake? What specifically changed in your approach that made the difference?
The part about reviewing wrong answers thoroughly is so underrated. Most people just move on after getting something wrong. Going back to understand the concept is what actually builds retention for the STAMP.
Good thread. One thing I'd add: don't try to cram the night before. I did 4 hours the night before my STAMP and I think it hurt more than helped. Your brain needs consolidation time. Light review or full rest is better.
Same experience here. The free stamp clear learning targets questions and answers was what finally made it click for me — specifically the way it explains the reasoning rather than just giving answers. Took me 3 weeks of consistent practice but scores went from 62% to 84% by exam day.
Really helpful breakdown, thanks for sharing. I'm at week 2 of my STAMP prep and the exam prep section is exactly where I'm struggling too. Going to try the approach you described and see if it moves my scores.
For what it's worth — I've taken the STAMP twice now. First attempt I underestimated the study guide questions. Second time I focused almost exclusively on applied practice and passed comfortably. The difference is real.
