Struggling with CST exam on CST practice tests — any tips?

The CST exam is more concept-focused than the study guides suggest. They test whether you understand CST, not just whether you can define it.

My tip: when you see a scenario question, mentally walk through it step by step before looking at the answers. The wrong answers are designed to catch people who jump to conclusions.

On the "CST exam" stuff specifically — I found the practice tests here were actually harder than the real exam on those questions. Which was great because going in I felt more prepared than I needed to be.

I felt this exact same way when I was studying for mine. I work full-time and was squeezing in maybe 30-45 minutes before bed most nights, so when scenario questions hit I'd just blank. What actually helped me was stopping the timed tests for a week and just drilling concept-application pairs -- like after reading about a topic I'd immediately try to think of a real classroom situation where it would come up.
