CBE vs alternatives — which certification is actually recognized more?
I'm trying to decide between pursuing CBE and a couple of alternative certifications in the same field. Hoping people with industry experience can weigh in.
From what I've researched, the CBE focuses more heavily on practice test, which aligns with the direction my career is heading. But I've heard mixed things about how widely it's recognized compared to the more established options in this space.
I've started practicing with the cbe - certified blockchain expert blockchain foundational concepts questions and answers and the content quality is strong. But strong study material doesn't necessarily mean the credential carries equal weight with hiring managers.
If you're in hiring or have been hired with the CBE cert: do recruiters actually know what it is? Or do you find yourself having to explain it? Real-world recognition matters more to me than prestige on paper.
Good thread. One thing I'd add: don't try to cram the night before. I did 3 hours the night before my CBE and I think it hurt more than helped. Your brain needs consolidation time. Light review or full rest is better.
Same experience here. The cbe - certified blockchain expert blockchain foundational concepts questions and answers was what finally made it click for me — specifically the way it explains the reasoning rather than just giving answers. Took me 3 weeks of consistent practice but scores went from 70% to 86% by exam day.
Congrats on passing! Can I ask — how many questions did the actual exam have compared to what the practice tests simulate? I've seen different numbers online and want to calibrate my timing during practice.
Bookmarking this. I'm still in the early stages of CBE prep and threads like this are way more useful than generic study guides. The specifics about practice test are particularly helpful — that's the section I've been avoiding.
I went through the CBE while working full-time with two kids, so I get how overwhelming it feels. Honestly, the key for me was just chipping away at it during lunch breaks and after bedtime. I'd do maybe 30-45 minutes a day tops. The practice material available online helped a ton — I spent a lot of time on sections like cbe/questions/tokenomics and digital assets because that content showed up more than I expected on the actual exam.
As for recognition, in my experience CBE carries more weight with employers who are focused on practical application over theory. It's not the flashiest credential but hiring managers in my field knew exactly what it meant. You'll find alternatives that look impressive on paper, but when I was interviewing, CBE came up in conversations way more than I thought it would. If you can fit in consistent study sessions even when life gets busy, it's worth it.
