Finally passed ASUS exam after two attempts — here's what actually worked
So I just got my results back yesterday and I'm honestly still in shock — passed with a 78 after failing my first attempt in March with a 61. I want to share what changed because I was pretty lost after that first fail and the forums here actually helped me a lot when I was spiraling.
First attempt I just read through the official documentation and figured that was enough. Spoiler: it wasn't. What made the difference this time was finding a solid ASUS study guide that broke down the hardware diagnostic sections specifically, because that's where I got destroyed the first time. I spent about 3 weeks, maybe 90 minutes a day, focusing almost entirely on troubleshooting workflows and component compatibility. Also started doing timed ASUS practice test sessions every few days to get comfortable with the question format — the wording can be weirdly tricky.
Anyone else preparing right now or have questions about specific topic areas? Happy to share more details about what I focused on. The thermal management questions especially caught me off guard the first time around.
