Answer: 500
Total parts = 8. Girls = (5/8) × 800 = 500.
An investment of £5,000 earns 4% interest per year. What is the total amount after one year?
Answer: £5,200
Interest = 4% of £5,000 = £200. Total = £5,000 + £200 = £5,200.
45 is what percentage of 180?
Answer: 25%
(45 ÷ 180) × 100 = 25%.
A report states that absenteeism fell by 30% to 140 days. What was the original number of days?
Answer: 200
If the current value is 70% of the original, then original = 140 ÷ 0.70 = 200.
Workers A and B share a bonus in a ratio of 5:3. Worker A receives £625. What does Worker B receive?
