  1. A team scores 48 points in 8 rounds. At that same rate, how many points would they score in 15 rounds?

    Answer: 90

    Rate = 48 ÷ 8 = 6 pts/round; 6 × 15 = 90.

  2. What is 1,250 decreased by 16%?

    Answer: 1,050

    16% of 1,250 = 200; 1,250 − 200 = 1,050.

  3. A rectangular field is 45 m long and 30 m wide. What is its area?

    Answer: 1,350 m²

    Area = length × width = 45 × 30 = 1,350 m².

  4. A soldier runs 400 m in 80 seconds. What is his speed in metres per second?

    Answer: 5 m/s

    Speed = 400 ÷ 80 = 5 m/s.

  5. Which of the following is divisible by both 4 and 6?

    Answer: 24

    24 ÷ 4 = 6 and 24 ÷ 6 = 4, so 24 is divisible by both.

  6. A mission budget of $4,800 is split between equipment (60%) and transport (40%). How much goes to transport?

    Answer: $1,920

    40% × $4,800 = 0.40 × 4,800 = $1,920.

  7. A number is tripled and then 14 is subtracted, giving 49. What is the original number?

    Answer: 21

    3x − 14 = 49 → 3x = 63 → x = 21.
