    Answer: $3,750

    2.5 years = 30 months; 30 × $125 = $3,750.

  2. A wall requires 48 tiles. If each box contains 12 tiles, how many boxes are needed?

    Answer: 4

    48 ÷ 12 = 4 boxes.

  3. The ratio of boys to girls in a class is 3:4. If there are 21 boys, how many girls are there?

    Answer: 28

    3/4 = 21/x → x = (21 × 4) ÷ 3 = 28 girls.

  4. A piece of rope 7.5 meters long is cut into pieces that are each 0.25 meters long. How many pieces are made?

    Answer: 30

    7.5 ÷ 0.25 = 30 pieces.

  5. A parking garage charges $2.50 for the first hour and $1.75 for each hour after that. How much does 5 hours of parking cost?

    Answer: $9.50

    $2.50 + (4 × $1.75) = $2.50 + $7.00 = $9.50.

  6. What is 3/8 expressed as a decimal?

    Answer: 0.375

    3 ÷ 8 = 0.375.

  7. A machine produces 240 parts in 8 hours. At this rate, how many parts will it produce in 15 hours?

    Answer: 450

    Rate = 30 parts/hour; 30 × 15 = 450 parts.
