What is the measure of each interior angle of a regular hexagon?
Answer: 120°
Sum of interior angles = (6−2)×180° = 720°. Each angle = 720°/6 = 120°.
In a right triangle, if one acute angle is 40°, what is the other acute angle?
Answer: 50°
The three angles sum to 180°. 90° + 40° + x = 180° → x = 50°.
A sector of a circle has a central angle of 90° and a radius of 6. What is the area of the sector? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 28.26
Area = (90/360) × πr² = (1/4) × 3.14 × 36 = 28.26.
A ramp rises 3 feet over a horizontal distance of 4 feet. What is the angle of elevation? (Approximate)
Answer: 37°
tan(θ) = 3/4 = 0.75. arctan(0.75) ≈ 36.87° ≈ 37°.
Two parallel lines are cut by a transversal. If one interior angle is 70°, what is the co-interior (same-side interior) angle?
Answer: 110°
Co-interior angles (same-side interior) are supplementary: 70° + 110° = 180°.
A right triangle has an angle of 60° and a hypotenuse of 10. What is the length of the side adjacent to the 60° angle?
Answer: 5
cos(60°) = adjacent/hypotenuse = adjacent/10. cos(60°) = 1/2. Adjacent = 5.
What is the surface area of a cube with side length 4?
Answer: 96
Surface area = 6s² = 6 × 16 = 96.
The vertices of a triangle are at (0,0), (4,0), and (4,3). What is the area?
Answer: 6
Base = 4 (along x-axis), height = 3 (vertical leg). Area = (1/2)(4)(3) = 6.
