Flour is 5/7 of 28 = 20.

If 5x + 3 = 4(x + 2), what is the value of x?
Answer: 5
5x + 3 = 4x + 8 → x = 5.
Solve for n: (n − 4)/3 + 2 = 5
Answer: 13
(n − 4)/3 = 3 → n − 4 = 9 → n = 13.
Two workers together earn $540 for a job. Worker A earns twice as much as Worker B. How much does Worker B earn?
Answer: $180
B + 2B = 540 → 3B = 540 → B = 180.
