A square pyramid has a base side of 6 m and height of 8 m. What is its volume?
Answer: 96 m³
V = (1/3) × base area × h = (1/3)(36)(8) = 96 m³.
A circle has area 36π. What is the circumference of the circle?
Answer: 12π
Area = πr² = 36π → r = 6; circumference = 2πr = 12π.
A 4 cm × 9 cm rectangle is cut in half diagonally. What is the area of each triangle formed?
Answer: 18 cm²
Rectangle area = 36 cm²; each triangle = 36/2 = 18 cm².
A sphere and a cube have the same volume. The cube has side length 6. What is the approximate radius of the sphere? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 3.06
Cube volume = 216; (4/3)πr³ = 216 → r³ = 216/(4.19) ≈ 51.55 → r ≈ 3.06.
An L-shaped region consists of a 6 × 6 square with a 2 × 4 rectangle removed from one corner. What is the area of the L-shape?
Answer: 28
Area = 36 − (2 × 4) = 36 − 8 = 28.
Two cylinders have the same volume. Cylinder A has radius 2 and height 9. Cylinder B has radius 3. What is the height of Cylinder B?
Answer: 4
V_A = π(4)(9) = 36π; 36π = π(9)h_B → h_B = 4.
A rectangular field 60 m × 40 m is surrounded by a fence that is 2 m from the field on all sides. What is the area enclosed by the fence?
Answer: 3392 m²
Fenced dimensions: (60+4) × (40+4) = 64 × 53 = 3392 m².
