A rectangle has a length of 14 cm and a width of 9 cm. What is the area of the rectangle?
Answer: 126 cm²
Area = length × width = 14 × 9 = 126 cm².
A triangle has a base of 20 inches and a height of 13 inches. What is its area?
Answer: 130 in²
Area = ½ × base × height = ½ × 20 × 13 = 130 in².
A circle has a radius of 6. What is its area? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 113.04
Area = πr² = 3.14 × 36 = 113.04.
A rectangular prism has length 5 m, width 4 m, and height 3 m. What is its volume?
Answer: 60 m³
Volume = l × w × h = 5 × 4 × 3 = 60 m³.
A cylinder has radius 4 cm and height 10 cm. What is its volume in terms of π?
Answer: 160π cm³
V = πr²h = π × 16 × 10 = 160π cm³.
A square with side length s has its side length doubled. By what factor does the area increase?
Answer: 4
New area = (2s)² = 4s²; the area increases by a factor of 4.
A composite figure consists of a rectangle 8 m × 5 m with a semicircle of diameter 8 m attached to one end. What is the total area? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 65.12 m²
Rectangle = 40 m²; semicircle = ½π(4²) = ½ × 3.14 × 16 = 25.12 m²; total = 65.12 m².
