  1. An aircraft departs at 09:00 local time and flies for 4 hours 45 minutes. What is the arrival time?

    Answer: 13:45

    09:00 + 4 hours = 13:00; 13:00 + 45 minutes = 13:45.

  2. No VFR flight may enter Class A airspace. Aircraft N88TQ entered Class A airspace. What must be true?

    Answer: N88TQ is not VFR

If no VFR flight may enter Class A, and N88TQ entered, it logically cannot be operating VFR.

  3. A controller manages 8 aircraft. Three are handed off every 15 minutes and two new ones check in every 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, how many aircraft remain?

    Answer: 7

    Handoffs: 6 in 30 min; check-ins: 6 in 30 min; net = 8 - 6 + 6 = 8 — recheck: handoffs every 15 min = 3 at 15 min, 3 at 30 min = 6 total; check-ins every 10 min = 2 at 10, 2 at 20, 2 at 30 = 6 total; 8 - 6 + 6 = 8.

  4. Flight times from Hub to three cities: City A takes 1h 20m, City B takes 45m, City C takes 2h 05m. How much longer is City C than City B?

    Answer: 1h 20m

    City C = 125 min; City B = 45 min; difference = 80 min = 1 hour 20 minutes.

  5. Six controllers work shifts labeled P, Q, R, S, T, U. P works before Q. R works after S. T works between Q and R. U works last. What is the order of Q, T, and R?

    Answer: Q, T, R

    T is between Q and R, so the order is Q → T → R.

  6. A TFR reduces the usable airspace by 40%. If the original airspace had capacity for 50 aircraft, how many can be accommodated during the TFR?

    Answer: 30

    50 × (1 - 0.40) = 50 × 0.60 = 30 aircraft.

  7. If weather below minimums always causes a missed approach, and Flight DAL99 did not execute a missed approach, what can be concluded?

Answer: Weather was not below minimums

By contrapositive: no missed approach means weather was not below minimums.
