  1. A table shows prices per pound: apples $1.50, oranges $2.00, bananas $0.75. If Sarah buys 4 lbs of apples, 2 lbs of oranges, and 3 lbs of bananas, what is her total cost?

    Answer: $12.25

    (4×$1.50)+(2×$2.00)+(3×$0.75) = $6.00+$4.00+$2.25 = $12.25.

  2. According to a graph, a car travels 150 miles in 2.5 hours. What is the car's average speed?

    Answer: 60 mph

    Average speed = distance ÷ time = 150 ÷ 2.5 = 60 mph.

  3. A frequency table shows library visits: 0 visits=5 students, 1 visit=8 students, 2 visits=12 students, 3 visits=5 students. How many students were surveyed in total?

    Answer: 30

Adding all groups: 5+8+12+5 = 30 total students surveyed.

  4. A chart shows a company's expenses increased from $45,000 to $54,000 over one year. By what percentage did expenses increase?

    Answer: 20%

    Percentage increase = (9,000 ÷ 45,000) × 100 = 20%.

  5. A data table shows monthly savings: January=$200, February=$350, March=$150, April=$400. What is the mean (average) monthly savings?

    Answer: $275

    Mean = (200+350+150+400) ÷ 4 = 1,100 ÷ 4 = $275.

  6. A bar chart shows inventory: Product A=120 units, Product B=85 units, Product C=200 units, Product D=95 units. Which product has the lowest inventory?

    Answer: Product B

Product B has 85 units, which is the smallest value among all four products.

  7. A worker earns $18/hour for regular hours and $27/hour for overtime. If the worker logs 40 regular hours and 5 overtime hours in a week, what is the total pay?

    Answer: $855

    (40 × $18) + (5 × $27) = $720 + $135 = $855.
