    Answer: 6.5 hours

    52 ÷ 8 = 6.5 hours of operation.

    Answer: 36

    (12 − 3) × 4 = 9 × 4 = 36 soldiers.

    Answer: 24 miles

    15/5 = 3 mph; 3 × 8 = 24 miles.

    Answer: 30

    2 hours = 120 minutes; 120 ÷ 4 = 30 drops.

  5. A squad of 8 soldiers must carry 96 lbs of equipment equally. How many pounds does each carry?

    Answer: 12 lbs

    96 ÷ 8 = 12 lbs per soldier.

  6. A training exercise costs $4,500 for 18 participants. What is the cost per participant?

    Answer: $250

    $4,500 ÷ 18 = $250 per participant.

  7. A radar station detects a plane 240 miles away traveling at 480 mph. In how many minutes will the plane arrive?

    Answer: 30 minutes

    240/480 = 0.5 hours = 30 minutes.
