    Answer: 60

    Average speed = total distance ÷ total time = 360 ÷ 6 = 60 mph.

    Answer: 300

    Number = 45 ÷ 0.15 = 300.

  3. The ratio of boys to girls in a class is 3:4. If there are 28 girls, how many boys are there?

    Answer: 21

    Boys = (3/4) × 28 = 21.

  4. A shopkeeper sells an item at $120, making a 20% profit. What was the cost price?

    Answer: $100

    Cost price = Selling price ÷ (1 + profit%) = 120 ÷ 1.20 = $100.

  5. Two numbers are in the ratio 5:7. If their sum is 144, what is the larger number?

    Answer: 84

    Larger number = (7/12) × 144 = 84.

  6. What is the simple interest on $2,000 at 5% per annum for 3 years?

    Answer: $300

    Simple Interest = Principal × Rate × Time = 2000 × 0.05 × 3 = $300.
