What is the measure of each interior angle of a regular pentagon?
Answer: 108°
Sum of interior angles = (5 - 2) × 180° = 540°; each angle = 540° ÷ 5 = 108°.
A rectangular prism has dimensions 5 × 4 × 3. What is its surface area?
Answer: 94
SA = 2(lw + lh + wh) = 2(20 + 15 + 12) = 2(47) = 94.
If two triangles are similar and their sides are in a ratio of 2:3, what is the ratio of their areas?
Answer: 4:9
The ratio of areas of similar figures equals the square of the ratio of corresponding sides: (2:3)² = 4:9.
An angle measures 130°. What is its complement?
Answer: No complement exists
Complementary angles add to 90°; since 130° > 90°, it has no complementary angle.
A line segment has endpoints A(1, 2) and B(5, 6). What is the midpoint?
Answer: (3, 4)
Midpoint = ((1+5)/2, (2+6)/2) = (3, 4).
What is the distance between points (1, 1) and (4, 5)?
Answer: 5
Distance = √((4-1)² + (5-1)²) = √(9 + 16) = √25 = 5.
