    Answer: $33

    $25 + (80 × $0.10) = $25 + $8 = $33.

  2. If a faucet leaks 2 cups of water per hour, how many gallons will it waste in one day? (16 cups = 1 gallon)

    Answer: 3 gallons

    2 cups/hr × 24 hr = 48 cups; 48 ÷ 16 = 3 gallons.

  3. Two friends share a pizza. One eats ⅜ and the other eats ½. What fraction of the pizza is left?

    Answer: ⅛

    ⅜ + ½ = ⅜ + 4/8 = 7/8 eaten; 1 − 7/8 = 1/8 remaining.

    68 − 53 = 15°F drop overnight.
