  1. If you look at a clock in a mirror, the time appears to show 3:00. What is the actual time?

    Answer: 9:00

A mirror reverses the image horizontally. When a clock shows 3:00 in a mirror, the actual time is 9:00, as the hands are reversed.

  2. A cube is painted red on all faces, then cut into 27 equal smaller cubes (3×3×3). How many small cubes have exactly two red faces?

    Answer: 12

Edge cubes (not at corners) have exactly 2 painted faces. A 3×3×3 cube has 12 edges, each with 1 middle cube = 12 cubes with 2 red faces.

  3. If you fold a square piece of paper in half diagonally, what shape do you get?

    Answer: Triangle

Folding a square along its diagonal creates a right-angled isosceles triangle.

  4. A building is viewed from the front and appears as a rectangle. From the side, it also appears as a rectangle. From above, it appears as a square. What shape is the building?

    Answer: Cube or cuboid

A cube (or square-based cuboid) shows rectangles from the front and side, and a square from above.

  5. You are facing north. You turn 270 degrees clockwise. Which direction are you now facing?

    Answer: West

    Starting at north, turning 270° clockwise: 90° = East, 180° = South, 270° = West.

  6. Two identical right-angled triangles are placed together along their longest side. What shape can they form?

    Answer: Rectangle

When two identical right-angled triangles are joined along their hypotenuse (longest side), they form a rectangle. If the triangle is isosceles, they form a square (which is a special rectangle).
