How do AP Classroom assignments actually help your exam score?

So I've been grinding through AP Classroom for the past few weeks and I'm genuinely not sure if I'm using it right. My teacher assigns the progress checks but half my classmates just click through them without really thinking, and then they act shocked when the AP poll of practice scores comes back and they're sitting at a 2. I'm aiming for a 4 or 5 on three exams this May — Psych, Calc AB, and US History.

For Psych specifically I found some outside resources like this AP Practice Test Psychology that actually explained the framing questions way better than the videos in AP Classroom did. But I keep hearing conflicting things — some people say AP Classroom FRQs are the gold standard, others say they're too easy compared to the real thing.

Has anyone cross-referenced their AP Classroom scores with actual May exam results? Like does a consistent 70%+ on progress checks actually predict a 4? Would love to hear from people who've already taken their AP exams and have real data.

Honestly AP Classroom progress checks are way easier than the real exam — I was consistently hitting 80% on them last year and only got a 3 on AP Lang. The FRQs are where you really need to grind. That said, the AP news feed in the classroom portal did tip me off about format changes before the exam, so at least subscribe to those updates. Don't ignore it, just don't treat it as your only prep.

Late to this thread but — AP Psych was my easiest 5 ever. Spend maybe 2 weeks on vocab flashcards, do 2-3 full practice tests under timed conditions, and you're basically there. The aps scoring rubric for FRQs is super transparent once you read it.

The top 25 predictors for passing AP exams in my experience: doing full-length timed practice tests and reviewing every single wrong answer. AP Classroom is a decent warm-up but it's not the whole story. I used it alongside Khan Academy for Calc and genuinely think that combo got me to a 5. What APs are you most worried about? Psych is actually one of the more forgiving ones if you nail the key terms.
