ARDMS SPI — The ARDMS Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) exam is administered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and consists of 110 questions (90 scored, 20 unscored pretest items) with a 2-hour time limit; passing requires a scaled score of 555 on a 300–700 scale, covering ultrasound physics, transducer technology, pulse-echo instrumentation, Doppler principles, artifacts, bioeffects, and quality assurance.
